If... Media is me, Sharon Goble, a creative communications professional with extensive experience in journalism, broadcasting, PR and copywriting.
I’m often asked why If… ? There’s a simple answer. I and F are the initials of my sons, Isaac and Felix, who were my motivation for setting up my own business after a career in TV and radio. When they were little, there were two wooden letters spelling ‘if’ propped in their room and I thought it made a great name for a media company.
Words have always been my ‘thing’. At primary school, I enjoyed spelling (weird, I know). For my ninth birthday, I asked for a dictionary (even weirder?). I studied languages and literature at university and eventually decided on a career in journalism. Playing around with words and using them creatively is something I love to do.

Working in television taught me the power of a great image. Combined with a thoughtful script, the effect can be dynamite! I collaborate with professional photographers and filmmakers for many of my projects.
I honed my story-telling skills working as a news reporter and presenter for ITV in the South West for fifteen years. Before that, I worked in radio across the country for the BBC. These days I’m mostly to be found writing away on the top floor of our townhouse in Exeter with distant views of glorious Devon countryside. My keyboard creativity is fuelled by many cups of tea.
