PR STRATEGY TO HELP YOU SHINE

Effective PR is about being clear what you want to say, why you want to say it and who you want to say it to. But there’s no point getting the basics sorted if you don’t get your message to the right people at the right time, pitched in a compelling way.

The first step to raising your organisation’s profile is getting to know you and what’s important to you.

Then I plan how best to communicate your stories and messages to the wider world through a variety of media and platforms - published articles, advertorials, blogs, websites, social media posts, video, podcasts and the traditional media of TV, radio and print.

I have strong contacts with reporters, broadcasters, editors and influencers throughout the South West - and beyond - helping me to achieve an ongoing ‘drip-drip’ of positive PR for my retained clients whilst developing mutually beneficial relationships. I sometimes work with clients on a one-off basis to promote a specific event or project. I also regularly work with agencies.

I can provide a ‘one-stop’ shop for larger projects by collaborating with a trusted network of other creative experts, who offer similar and complementary services to my own.

WESTBANK

Raising the profile of a long-established yet relatively unknown health and wellbeing charity

I’ve worked with Westbank Community Health and Care since the spring of 2022. Westbank’s is a complicated story because there are so many elements to the charity’s work. I have secured coverage online, in the local and regional press, on local radio and on regional television; provided digital and written content for the website; worked on comms strategies for new initiatives and campaigns; produced videos and increased the charity’s photo library to enhance its social media presence.

DEVON CPRE

From hard-hitting campaign copy to member recruitment initiatives

Supporting the Devon branch of the countryside charity calls upon my full range of PR skills. I have been working with Devon CPRE for several years to raise the charity’s profile and awareness of its campaign work. Membership has risen significantly, and we have gained regular, high-profile coverage across the full range of media. I also produce and present videos for the charity.

World Extreme medicine

Working for the world-leading provider of extreme medicine training

It’s great to collaborate, and it’s a pleasure to tell the stories of the accomplished and adventurous medics who are WEM’s worldwide community. Supporting WEM with PR takes fellow freelancer Sue Cade and me to extreme environments like underwater and outer space. Not literally, you understand!

KITLEY HOUSE HOTEL

PR for an award-winning ‘hidden gem’ of a hotel on a stunning country estate

I was instrumental in helping historic Kitley House re-establish itself at the heart of its community after being taken back into family hands. I worked closely with the team for several years to raise the profile of the Grade-1-listed hotel, restaurant and wedding venue in the South Hams, helping launch a new website, achieve extensive media coverage and win a number of coveted awards. Sadly, Kitley was a victim of the Covid 19 lockdowns and was forced to close during the pandemic.

EXETER PHILHARMONIC CHOIR

Helping Exeter’s oldest choral organisation to be seen and heard!

Since its first concert in 1847, Exeter Philharmonic Choir has performed in Exeter every single year, joined by professional players and first-class soloists.  I came on board a few years ago to help the Choir build upon this outstanding reputation. I work with EPC to promote concerts, reach even more music lovers and secure sponsorship.

THE CAFE ON THE GREEN

Supporting the growth of an independent Dartmoor cafe run by a go-getting couple

When new owners Becca Cherrett and Jamie Holliss took on the Cafe on the Green in Widecombe in 2018, they asked me to help them spread the word about their fantastic foodie business. A family-friendly, dog-friendly eaterie in a picturesque spot serving top-notch, locally-sourced food and drink, how could I say no?
